Africa Month is the perfect time to highlight the diversity of the African diaspora through art. Vibing While Black - The art party is a celebration of creativity, music, and handcrafted goodness from eight Black creatives.
We have live art from Mwewa Kasongo, an emerging self-taught Zambian artist based in Pōneke, Aotearoa and Adele Hall, a self-taught mixed media artist hailing from a unique blend of English, Afro-Caribbean, and Irish roots. You will also have a chance to buy pieces of their work. Musical performances from Layla Pitt, a trained Actor/Singer and a woman of NZ European and Bajan (Barbados) descent and ASHA, an Afro-Caribbean singer/song-writer. DJ Mangaliso will be dropping beats, and vendors House of Afi, offering ceremonial herbal skincare, ritual candles, beaded jewellery and artistic creations;
Wear Afronique, with handmade accessories and yours truly bringing their tote bags to help you carry home all your new pieces.
